Participation
This section provides details on the participation conditions as well as the financial responsibilities of each delegation participating in the Brasília 2026 FISU World University Championship Combat Sports. All delegations are expected to comply with the conditions below and respect the official payment deadlines defined by FISU and the Organizing Committee.
UPDATE: We kindly remind all that the deadline for submission of the Quantitative Entry Form is 08 March 2026.
Registration
Only the following may take part in the Championships:
- An association with membership of FISU;
- In the case of non-affiliation to FISU:
a) A country whose Olympic Committee is allowed to take part in the Olympic Games;
b) A country not having an Olympic Committee recognised by the IOC may take part in those sports for which there is an NF of that country which is affiliated to the appropriate IF. The FISU Executive Committee will decide for each sport in which the country wishes to participate.
Athlete’s Eligibility
Only the athletes who comply with the following conditions may take part in a FISU World University Championship:
- Be a national of the country they represent;
- Be at least 18 and no older than 25 years of age on the 31st December of the year of the event; for 2026, athletes must be born between the 01/01/2001 and the 31/12/2008.
Note that a special age bracket may apply to some sports following the International Federation regulations, in which case the specific eligibility considerations are detailed in the respective Technical Regulations.
Participation Fees
All delegations taking part in a FISU World University Championship are required to pay two types of fees:
1. Participation Fee
To be paid to the Organizing Committee
This fee covers accommodation, meals, local transport, and event services during the official competition period.
- €80 per person, per night
To be applied to all athletes and officials of the delegation - €140 per person, per night
To be applied exclusively to extra officials of the delegation. Should a delegation wish to include extra officials in its composition, the request must be submitted to the Organizing Committee and FISU as soon as possible. All requests will be subject to review and approval by both entities.
Payment Schedule:
- 50% of the total amount – due 3 months before the event
- Remaining 50% – due 1 month before the event (with Individual Entry) – To be paid to the OC

2. FISU Entry Fee
To be paid to FISU
- €20 per participant for Member Associations;
- €40 per participant for Non-Member Associations.
The final delegation composition is confirmed during the last stage of the accreditation process by the FISU CIC Delegate, with the HoD signing an invoice that confirms the delegation size. A copy of this invoice is retained by the NUSF.
This FISU Fee is not paid on-site but invoiced to each participating NUSF along with other annual Championship fees.
3. ITO Fee (If applicable)
To be paid to the Organising Committee
In accordance with the FISU Technical Handbooks, the ITO fee is applicable exclusively to Karate and Wrestling participants. For each of these sports, the total cost information will be shared with all participating delegations at a later stage of the preparation process.
Other Notes
- OC Bank details: Payment details will be shared together with each delegation’s invoice, which will be issued based on the information provided in the Individual Entry Forms submitted through the FISU GMS.
- Bank Charges: All bank transfer fees must be covered by the delegations.
- Cancellation Policy: Late cancellations or modifications in the delegation composition may result in penalties or loss of deposits as defined in the cancellation policy.
Travel Costs
Each country is responsible for covering the cost of travel for its delegation to and from the nearest official point of entry (airport or other), approved by the FISU Championships Department.
