Medical Services

The health and safety of all participants are a top priority for FISU and each Organising Committee. During every FISU World University Championship, a comprehensive medical plan is implemented to ensure proper care and emergency response throughout the event.

1. On-Site Medical Support

The Organising Committee will provide:

  • Qualified medical personnel at all competition and training venues
  • First aid services for athletes, team officials, and accredited participants
  • Medical stations equipped for injury treatment and minor medical needs
  • Emergency medical evacuation procedures in case of serious incidents

Ambulances will be on standby at all venues during official competition periods.

Antidoping

Doping Control

FISU is committed to promoting clean sport and ensuring fair play across all its competitions. All FISU Championships are conducted in full compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and its related International Standards.

1. Anti-Doping Regulations

All participants must adhere to:

  • The World Anti-Doping Code,
  • The FISU Anti-Doping Rules, and
  • The rules and procedures of the International Federation (IF) governing the sport.

Doping controls may be conducted in-competition and/or out-of-competition, in accordance with the relevant regulations.

2. Testing Procedures

Doping controls will be carried out by the OC with the supervision of the FISU Medical Delegate in coordination with the relevant National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) or an accredited Sample Collection Authority. Athletes may be selected for testing at any time during the competition period.

Controls may include:

  • Urine and/or blood sample collection
  • Random or targeted testing
  • Testing of medal winners and/or record-setting athletes

3. Athlete Responsibilities

Athletes and their entourage are responsible for:

  • Complying fully with the testing procedure
  • Presenting valid photo identification when requested
  • Staying within the Doping Control Station until released
  • Declaring all Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) where applicable

For more information on TUEs, visit: www.fisu.net/sport/anti-doping

4. Consequences of Violations

Any violation of anti-doping rules may lead to individual sanctions, including disqualification, loss of medals or ranking, and disciplinary action against the athlete and/or delegation.
FISU may also refer cases to the athlete’s National Anti-Doping Organisation, International Federation, or the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) if required.
